From June 26-27, 2023, we met for a workshop in Berlin. We discussed methods of variational pragmatics and historical sociolinguistics with invited experts from Germany and abroad. We welcomed Leo Kretzenbacher (Melbourne), Martin Luginbühl (Basel), Eva Ogiermann (London), Markus Schiegg (Erlange-Nuremberg), and Gijsbert Rutten (Leiden) to the Freie Universität Berlin. To round off the event, all participants went out for Chinese food.
